Ella Kate's First Haircut

YaYa and I took Ella Kate for her first haircut this weekend. We went to Pigtails and Crewcuts and it was sooooo cute! Ella Kate was so good and didn;t want to leave. She wanted to play with all of the toys and watch Madagascar. They had three little cars to choose from to sit in, she chose the Yello Taxi Cab! It was too cute, we took lots of pics and she sat so still, I was afraid she might be scared and cry. But nope, she loved it! She got a lollipop for being so good and then got to pick out a prize from the treasure chest, she must be in the Patriotic mood because out of all of the little toys, she chose a little plastic American flag! Here are some pics-

Mama's Little Piggy

Riley has been eating rice cereal over the last few weeks and has started to gobble it up so I decided to introduce carrots last night. She wasn't sure what to think about them at first, but I think she likes them, what do you think?????

Look Familiar??? Here is Ella Kate around the same age with her first taste of carrots!

We also have been busy cheering on our Tigers to a National Championship!!! The girls have been "representing" in their LSU gear. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Father's Day 2009

We had a very nice and relaxing Father's Day. Scott and Ella Kate went and got doughnuts that morning and then we went and grilled hamburgers with Scott's Dad at Lesley's house. The kids all played and had a great time! Then we all came home and took a nap, it was nice! The girls and I worked very hard on Scott's present, here is the end result:

Riley

Riley is doing so well! She is the happiest little thing ever! She has had a busy week-she "found her feet" on Monday, took her first bath with her sister in the big tub on Tuesday, and started sticking out her tongue this week as well. It is so funny, she likes to smile and stick out her tongue at you, it is too cute! Of course, I had to take a picture of her and Ella Kate and in the tub together, I know they will kill me when they are older and they see this pic. But I just had to do it!

Riley also had a follow up hearing evalution this morning and passed with flying colors!!! Babies with cleft lips and palates often need ear tubes due to fluid in their ears so they recommend following up with with hearing exams after birth. But little Miss Riley did so great they discharged us and said they didn't think she needed to have anymore tests on her ears. The fluid behind the ear is really more of a concern when the palate is involved, so Riley should be fine! And it was wonderful to hear the nurse ask me why we had to do a follow up exam and I explained to her Riley was born with a cleft lip. The nurse was so impressed with her lip repair and said she would have never even noticed her scar had I not told her! And she went on and on about what a wonderful job our surgeon did. Of course, this is always wonderful to hear! Riley just smiled and cooed at the nurse as if to say. "Yeah, I know I am cute!" ;)

Catching Up

We have been busy so I am trying to catch up on everything! First off, we got a new car-A Denali XL. I absolutley love it and Ella Kate keeps calling it "Her New Car!" It was sad to say goodbye to the Volvo, we will miss her! We also had to say goodbye to Mom's "Nicky Boy", he passed away on Friday 5/22 after being hit by a car. This broke all of our hearts, especially's Mom's. But he is in Pet Heaven now and I am sure our beloved Possum is looking after him. Mom got her a new dog to help keep her company and he is the cutest and sweetest little Puppy. His name is Newman after Paul Newman!

We went to Dad and Deb's for Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed spending time with all of the kids and getting in some Pool Time! We overserved ourselves one night and ended up having a Dance Party in the living room, thank goodness I got alot of it on Video! HA! Also got a ton of cute pics!

The Girls are doing great, growing so fast! Riley is a chunk and has these scrumptious little thighs, they are hamhocks!!! She is drinking so much formula, Dr. Wood suggested trying rice cereal to slow her down some. we tried to feed her some with a spoon but she is not a fan! We will keep trying! Her new hobby(besides eating!) is drooling everywhere while she makes the little Rasberry sound with her lips! And boy does she love to smile and laugh, she is such a happy baby! Ella Kate is hilarious and talks non stop! She told Scott the other day, "Be patient Daddy!" No clue where she learns all of this! She also is telling me, "Wait a minute, I am busy!" And then last night Scott was playing music and we were all dancing in the kitchen and EK is dancing and then all of sudden she says, "take off my clothes, take off my clothes!" and was trying to take her shirt off. Scott told her, "OH NO, listen to Daddy, there will be no taking your clothes off when dancing to music!" It was pretty funny to hear him having this conversation with a two year old!

Here are the pics from Memorial Day-
