1st Day of Kindergarten

Today was a big day, Ella Kate started Kindergarten! Riley was so excited for her and insisted on walking her big sister to school! They melted my heart by holding hands the whole way and then EK gave her baby sister the biggest hug and kiss when it was time to go! My girls are growing up way too fast!

Summer Wrap Up!

Our summer kicked off with our annual Memorial Day Weekend at Biggie and Me Me Deb's! As always, it was a blast filled with lots of swimming and good eats and drinks! The kids were water logged by weekend's End!!! And then we we're off the the girls' dance recital! I was a nervous wreck since it was Riley's first year of dance and she can be quite shy, but she was a SHINING STAR that night along with her big sister! They were so sweet together, Ella Kate was such a proud big sister and took such good care of Riley during their performance, made this Mama so proud! It was long night, 3 hours worth of dance numbers but thanks to Aunt Jenny for packing the mini bottles of wine, we made it through! The beach was calling our name, so off we went to Gulf Shores with Ya Ya and the Heard Family! We had such a wonderful time, the girls love playing in the sand and looking for sea shells. They swam their little hearts out and became beach babes with their little tans! GONE FISHING!!!!!!!!!!! We wrapped up our summer with a fun fishing trip at Pa Pop's! We learned alot that day, for starters, Scott is man enough to fish with a little pink Barbie fisihing Rod! Also, Ella Kate has no fear of worms where as Riley freaks out over the crickets! We also learned that even Mama can catch a fish even if it was a mullet! Pa Pop and EK got the award for the biggest fish, Scott got the most competitve award after he stole his wife's fishing spot! And Riley got the "loudest fisherman" award! Good times and wonderful memories were made, even in the rain!

Lemonade Stand

We had a very memorable Sunday, the girls' had their very first lemonade stand! They were so excited about it and talked about it all weekend! Me Me found them the stand and their Daddy put it together, it is the cutest thing ever! They had so much fun, Yelling "Lemonade Stand!!! Lemonade Stand!!!!" Ella Kate was so very excited about her 50 cent tip from our nice neighbor, she thought she had hit the jackpot! Riley was a little timid but liked to fill the glasses with ice before passing them on to her big sister. They were so precious and it definitely reminded me of my lemonade sales as a little girl! They earned a whopping $6 and drank most of their product, but hey, it was hot and that is what lemonade stands are all about!
